Updated October 5, 2026

LunarSolar is designed to work without an account. Its lunar and solar calendar is bundled with the app and remains available offline.

Opening a historical or future month outside the bundled calendar requests that year’s public lunar and solar dates from the existing Amdirion service. Only the date interval is sent, never your event titles, notes or search text. Validated year pages are cached locally for offline reuse; the service receives ordinary network metadata. A month that has never been delivered requires a connection.

Calendar access

If you choose to connect iPhone calendars, LunarSolar reads the calendars and events you select and lets you create, edit, or delete events. Calendar data stays on your device and is not sent to LunarSolar or the weather provider.

Reminders

If you connect Reminders, LunarSolar reads incomplete reminders with a due date and shows them on that day. Reminder data stays on your device and remains owned by Apple Reminders.

Location and weather

Local weather is optional. The web forecast starts with Alingsås; you can choose another place, save places or driving routes, enter coordinates, or explicitly ask the browser for your location. The shared weather service receives the chosen coordinates, route stops and departure times and uses forecast cells about one kilometre across. Everyone requesting the same cell reuses its server-side forecast. Driving geometry and nearby place names use Valhalla and OpenStreetMap services; the route map requests viewport tiles from OpenStreetMap. Your personal calendar events and reminders are never sent with a weather request.

The weather service receives normal network metadata, including your IP address. MET Norway receives the forecast-cell coordinates and the service's network metadata for upstream requests, and retains its API access logs in Norway. Sun/Moon horizon requests use coordinates rounded to four decimal places, the selected date and local UTC offset through the same service. See MET Weather API terms. The shared server cache stores forecast payloads and provider/cache timestamps by cell, without personal calendar data or an account profile. A forecast waits at least one hour, or until a later provider expiry, before upstream revalidation; active clients refresh every three hours. Cache freshness is not a deletion schedule: a last successful forecast can remain available during an outage.

The web app keeps saved places and routes, recent forecasts and refresh times in this browser's local storage. You can clear forecasts under Forecast source & privacy while keeping your place and route definitions, remove definitions in the place chooser, or clear all site data in your browser. Clearing browser storage does not delete the shared public cell forecast or cached road geometry. Native app Weather settings own their local cache controls.

Local preferences

Calendar visibility, visual preferences, and year-count choices are stored locally on your device. If you sign in through Amdirion, supported preferences and saved definitions synchronize through your separate Calendar or Weather settings record. Your device calendar events, reminders and private weather-provider credentials are not part of that settings record. LunarSolar has no advertising or cross-app tracking; its native apps do not include an analytics SDK.

Amdirion manages your sign-in, email verification and account recovery. Optional sign-in stores your account email, name and account identifier with your synchronized presentation settings. Signing out keeps your local settings. Manage your central sign-in account at Amdirion. Calendar has no separate server account: deleting your Amdirion account removes the central identity and its synchronized Calendar and Weather settings. Device calendars and accounts created in separate services remain.

Central account records and synchronized settings are stored by Amdirion in its SQLite database on Fly.io in Stockholm, Sweden. Weather settings can include exact saved place and route coordinates, route titles, departure times and the selected view. This private settings record is separate from the anonymous shared forecast cache. On iPhone, Weather uses Apple Maps; the map provider receives the viewport requests and normal network metadata. An optional private forecast-service address stays in your settings, but its password stays in your device's secure storage and is excluded from account synchronization and exports.

Amdirion uses Brevo to send account confirmation, sign-in codes and recovery emails to your email address. Its server uses Sentry for error and performance diagnostics, separately from app advertising or cross-app tracking. Server requests can therefore produce diagnostic request metadata and error reports.

Your choices and deletion

You can deny or revoke Calendar, Reminders, and Location access in iOS Settings, or revoke this website's location permission in your browser. Weather cache controls clear local saved forecasts. Uninstalling removes the app's local container; operating-system secure storage can retain sign-in credentials for restoration after reinstall. Browser site-data controls remove the web app's saved places, routes and forecasts. Calendar events you deliberately saved remain under your calendar provider’s control.
